Alcohol use and abuse

SUMMARY: TRACK 1: A series of oral history excerpts dealing with the topic of alcohol use and abuse, compiled from tapes in the collection of the Aural History Programme at the Provincial Archives of British Columbia. This material was assembled in August 1978 for possible use in a travelling exhibit or slide presentation by the Alcohol and Drug Commission, in connection with Alcohol Awareness Week (October 16-20, 1978). Transcripts produced by the Hansard Office of sittings of Select Standing Committees and Special Committees of the BC Legislative Assembly, 1973. Not all committees were recorded since each committee had the choice of whether to accept Hansard's services. Of those that did, some met in camera without transcription services or "on the road" where recording was not feasible.

Included here are the Select Standing Committees on Agriculture, on Forestry and Fisheries, Public Accounts and Printing, Municipal Matters, Social Welfare and Education; and to Special Committees on Coastal Oil Spills and Television Broadcasting.

Responsible service of alcohol

The item consists of an informational video created in 1989 for the Liquor Control Board, which uses dramatic reenactments that show the importance of serving alcohol responsibility. It is aimed at servers and businesses involved in the industry.
