Scope and content

SUMMARY: "Audience" was an arts program presented from Vancouver. This episode, "Mystery Play Of The Nativity", is a play about the birth of Jesus Christ, fashioned from the mystery plays performed by the medieval guilds at Chester and York during the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. This production, presented in Ryerson Church in Vancouver on 10 December 10 1980, was a version previously adapted for radio by Andrew Allan. The music is by Healey Willan and performed by the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra and instrumentalists conducted by Jon Washburn. The stage production was directed by Peter Haworth; the studio realization of Mr. Haworth's stage production was by Norman Newton and Bill Seebach.
