History

Harold Brown was an electrical engineer who worked for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and the Manx Electric Railway before coming to British Columbia around 1910. During World War I he served in Italy with the rank of Major. Returning to Vancouver after the war, he worked for Whalen Pulp Company before accepting a post in the Union Steamship Company in 1923. He became General Manager in 1924 and President in 1938. In 1942 he retired as President and moved to Victoria but remained Chairman of the Board. He died on April 16, 1946.
