Established 1901. Called also by varying names (Bureau of Information and General Publicity). Became Bureau of Industrial and Tourist Development in 1937. Name changed to British Columbia Government Travel Bureau in 1938

Scope and content
Series consists of photographs acquired or taken by the Bureau of Provincial Information of the Dept. of Travel Industry in 1930 and 1936. The photographs consist of prints, negatives and postcard showing views of Victoria harbour, Parliament buildings, log piles, mining activity and ships. The series also includes a tintype, ca. 1910, of unknown provenance. The image is of a family or a group, no details of their identity is known.
