The item is a sheet of paper containing a partial drawing of elements of a church, presumed to have been drawn by the Royal Engineers.

Dr. Powell, Metlahkatlah Mission church

The item is a b&w photograph showing Dr. I.W. Powell, A.C. Anderson and probably Captain Orlebar on the dais in front of the Metlakatla church, with the congregation behind. The photograph was taken by O.C. Hastings in 1879.

British Columbia general views and Victoria and vicinity

Series consists of 382 photographs produced primarily by Hannah or Richard Maynard. Other photographers may also be identified on some negatives. Images depict locations around Victoria, including downtown, Beacon Hill, Esquimalt, and the Gorge, as well as other places within British Columbia that could not be otherwise attributed to the Maynard's field photography. Scenes include Victoria street scenes, churches, the Inner Harbour, regattas, farming, and forests.

The old Dewdney trail

Documentary. Traces the pack-trail which once linked the Kootenay gold fields with the west coast, from Fort Hope to Fort Steele. Includes footage of the closing down of Camp McKinney gold mine; site of Fort Shepherd HBC post; Waneta Dam; St. Eugene Mission Church, and the cemetery at trail's end, Wild Horse Creek. One striking sequence shows the deserted streets and buildings of Fort Steele prior to its restoration.

Haida Gwaii trips

Sub-series consists of colonial administration field photographs taken by Richard Maynard during his Department of Indian Affairs tours of inspection to Haida Gwaii in 1884 and 1888.
