Appointed August 7, 1902; report dated February 18, 1903. Commissioners: John Bryden, of Victoria; Tully Boyce, of Nanaimo; Peter S. Lampman, of Victoria. Inquiry into causes of explosions in coal mines. The commissioners visited Fernie, Nanaimo, Cumberland, and Ladysmith, took evidence from mining engineers, miners, and others, and made recommendations for safety measures, with a view to subsequent legislation.
