Biographical history
Established March 28, 1945 when the Forest Branch of the Dept. of Lands became the Forest Service of the Dept. of Lands and Forests. The Forest Service retained its name when the Dept. of Lands and Forests became the Dept. of Lands, Forests and Water Resources in March 1962. On Dec. 23, 1975 the Forest Service was transferred to the newly created Dept. of Forests. Ceased to exist April 1979.
Custodial history
Received by Project 87, Ministry of Forests, from the Forest Service Library, 1981, transferred to the Provincial Archives, 1983.
Scope and content
This series contains copies of briefs submitted to the Royal Commission on Forest Resources (1955-1957). The records include submissions missing from Royal Commission's records (see GR-0668), duplicates containing supplementary material, notations, remarks, or amendments not found with the originals, and submissions in a different format than that with the original.

Exhibit 206G (2 copies) were removed from this series in 1983, transferred to the Map Division and reaccessioned as 18501W and 18502W. They were returned to this series in 2023.
