The item is a b&w copyprint of a photograph of the Victoria Fire Department. The printed slip taped to the back of the print states:
"This, the entire 26-man Victoria Fire Department taken 29th March, 1886. Background is the City Hall on the North side of Pandora between Broad and Douglas. The pumper drawn by horses is the English Merryweather acquired in 1869."
