Scope and content

Feature film. "The year is 1901. Bill Miner, the legendary American stage-coach robber, nicknamed the 'gentleman bandit', has just been released from San Quentin. During his 33-year imprisonment, the 20th century and industrialization have arrived. His trade is now obsolete. Without skills, he eventually moves to the last frontier, the Canadian Northwest. Settling in the Nicola Valley, south of Kamloops, British Columbia, he adopts the identity of George Edwards, rancher. But, inspired one day by a screening of Edwin S. Porter's "The Great Train Robbery" at a local nickelodeon, he adapts his skills to the new era and begins robbing trains." (NLC description)
