Scope and content
"Families and bands working in their traditional fishing places in the canyons, rivers and lakes of the great Fraser River and its many important tributaries. Filmed during the 1970s with the consent and co-operation of the native bands, this motion picture give an historical perspective on the ways in which new developments in technology have been adopted into the traditional harvest of the annual salmon runs, with dip nets, gaff hooks, and gill nets. A variety of methods of preparing and filleting the fish for drying, salting, or smoking, are shown." (from Qualicum Film Productions flyer, n.d.)
