The item is a reel of film footage from ca. 1948. It shows cable-laying operations: at False Creek, reels of cable are winched aboard a Straits Towing barge, cable-laying operation proceeds off the shore of one of the Gulf Islands, employing barge and tugboat, shore crews are also shown at work and linemen hang a line transformer.
