History

Rafe Mair was born in Vancouver in 1931. He worked as a lawyer in Vancouver before moving to Kamloops where he was a Social Credit MLA from 1975 to 1981. He sat on the Executive Council of the Bill Bennett government and held several portfolios including Consumer and Corporate Services, Environment and Health.

After leaving government in 1981, Mair went back to Vancouver and worked as a radio talk show host, first with CJOR and then CKNW and other stations.
He died in Vancouver on October 9, 2017.
