The Royal Lethington "Pat" Maitland family papers are composed of Maitland's personal correspondence, speeches and addresses, Logs of the House (Legislative Assembly of British Columbia), scrapbooks, etc. Also includes correspondence, notes, etc. of Maitland's wife, Ruth Hildred Mills, as well as correspondence of their children Robert Reid, Elizabeth Ruth, William John and Norah Kathleen.

Access to personal and family section (boxes 6, 33-38) is restricted to specific family members named in letter from the Provincial Archives to Mrs. King dated 23 September 1981 (see correspondence file "King, Mrs. Elizabeth Maitland" in General Office Files). All others wishing to access these items must obtain written consent (July 1998, heirs not yet located). All users must sign the register available at the Retrieval Desk.
