Item consists of a mount of one landscape photograph. A meadow edged by silhouetted trees is in the foreground. Clouds float above a far-off range of mountains. "Headwaters of Similkameen River, Mount Frosty just above big tree to right" is printed in gold on decorative paper adhered below the photograph. The caption is re-written in pencil on the verso.

Hope slide

The item is an edited reversal print from 1965. It show the aftermath of the huge landslide on the Hope-Princeton Highway 12 miles east of Hope, on January 9, 1965. There are extensive aerial views of slide area, ravaged mountainside, surrounding landscape; helicopter flying over site; ground crews at work, digging in rubble, searching for vehicles and bodies (including use of dogs and metal detector); heavy equipment clearing temporary roadway; blasting; crews working, erecting signs; wrecked vehicles in snow; travelling shot from new road; crew removing barriers to open road.

Manning Park 1946

The item is a reel of unedited film footage showing three men and two women on a hiking and backpacking tour in Manning Park in the summer of 1946. Views of mountain scenery, forests and flora, camp scenes, some wildlife and fishing. Mickey Trew is seen packing up the camp.

Peachtime in the valley : Penticton, British Columbia

The item is a film print of a travelogue made in 1951. It depicts the Hope-Princeton Highway and the Penticton Peach Festival and Rodeo. Footage includes: Manning Park and highway scenes en route to Penticton; Peach Festival parade (including girls' pipe band); crowning of Queen Val Vedette; festival midway; harness racing. Rodeo events include pattern riding, bronco riding, calf roping, bulldogging steers and bull riding. Also lake shore and orchard scenes. BC highway construction is promoted in the commentary.
