News item. Footage of petroglyphs which shows, according to an expert, the fairly recent age of the design. These petroglyphs are light in colour, he says, which means thay have not had time enough to weather and to darken to the same degree as the rock which surrounds them.

Weir Family records

The series includes an agreement, in the handwriting of William Weir, January 1, 1865 regarding properties in Metchosin, British Columbia signed by Adam Weir, Hugh T. Weir, John Weir, Robert Weir and William Weir. It also includes a transcript typescript of the diary of Adam Weir's gold rush trip to the Cassiar district, November 1874. On this trip, Weir was accompanied by Alex Fulton, Hans Helgesen and B. Sutter.

The series contains a microfilm copy of the diary of the Weir family of Metchosin, 1866-1870. The reel also includes a copy of Adam Weir's Cassiar diary, 1874 and genealogical notes on the Evans family (William Evans, 1802-1883), ancestors of Leighton Evans, coastal mariner.
