History

Chauncey Donald Orchard was Chief Forester of British Columbia from 1941 to 1958. Born in New Brunswick, Orchard moved to British Columbia in 1920 to join the British Columbia Forest Service after graduating from the University of New Brunswick. He served in the Forest Service for almost forty years, including his time as Chief Forester, and became British Columbia's first Deputy Minister of Forests.
