Biographical history

The Pharmacare division was responsible for the administration of the province’s drug reimbursement program of the same name. The benefits included most prescription medications, insulin, needles, syringes, and blood-glucose testing strips, certain ostomy supplies, designated permanent prosthetic appliances and children’s orthotic devices. Under the Pharmaceutical Services Act (SBC 2012, c. 22), the Minister of Health is responsible for administering the Pharmacare program.
