RECORDED: [location unknown], 1966-02-03 SUMMARY: TRACK 1: Major Robert H. Green recalls his childhood in Kaslo and his father, Robert Francis Green. He begins by discussing his father's early background in Canada. He describes the Green Brother's store; Illecillewaet; Robson; Ainsworth; Kaslo. He offers recollections of Kaslo in 1893; the flood on Kootenay Lake in 1893; more about the town itself and the Green brothers' store and brief mention of the Kaslo and Slocan Railway. Then he offers childhood memories of Kaslo and how his father entered politics. He discusses Sir Richard McBride; his memories as a child of Victoria in 1904; his cousin Howard Green; his father in both provincial and federal politics; and several characters that he recalls.
