The item is a documentary film from 1939. "Hand spliced. Exterior of Government House and gardens with Royal Standard flying. Interior of Royal Suite where King and Queen will stay at Government House. King and Queen arrive at Parliament Buildings, King George inspects guard. Premier presents the address. King and Queen leave, move up Government Street by open car to Empress Hotel. King and Queen arrive at Empress Hotel for "luncheon". King presents colours to RCN Honour Guard in Beacon Hill Park. Sailors march past, King George takes salute. May 31, shots of the "Prince Robert". On the wharf, hundreds of veterans. King inspects Honour Guard. King and Queen board the "Prince Robert", crowds wave and cheer, King and Queen wave from bridge. The "Prince Robert" sails to Vancouver. The "Prince Robert". seen silhouetted in the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Two girls wave as the ship sails by, accompanied by two destroyers. A written farewell. Pen sketch of the two young Princesses on a Union Jack [background]." (Colin Browne)
