History

Frederick Louis Tait was born in Birmingham, England, and trained there as a printmaker, stained-glass designer, and painter. He came to Vancouver in 1912 to work for the Bogardus-Wickens company making stained glass.

He exhibited etching in the early part of the 1900s with the B.C. Society of Fine Arts and in the annual B.C. Artists show at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1934.

The BC Archives holds the largest collection of his etchings.
