ItemE-00910 - [Canton, China] 1) Looking from the top of the barracks of the Marine Artillery on the side of Magazine Hill - House occupied by 1st battn. Royal Marines.
ItemE-00911 - [Canton, China] 2) Looking from Mud Fort down the road leading up to it from the Walls, taking in Offrs. [Officers] Hut on the left, Huts occupied by the Sappers on the right, and the celebrated 5 storied Pagoda.
ItemE-00912 - [Canton, China ] 2) The North East Gate from the ruined houses inside the walls - some little distance from this to the south the attack by the Marines took place, a rush was made along the walls to this gate, it was ours then, vacated by the Chinese, the gates were immediately opened and through them the Artillery entered the houses at that time came close up to the Gate. They have been levelled for the sake of defence.

ItemE-00915 - [Canton, China] This gives you the ornamental water, the little summer house in the centre is where the friends of Hang How-qua retire to in hot weather to drink tea; I am upon the bridge leading to it, wh. is very rickety so I fancy it is seldom visited, the Inscription over the door on the board is Sow-chuck-qua wh. means I believe hot Flower house, the two Chinamen on the left are my servants whom I've drilled to sit steady, by going round where they are and looking back you see on the left and right No. 6 and 7.
