Archer Martin was a judge in Victoria, B.C., who served on the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal for B.C. Martin was also a historian and gardener.

General correspondence files, 1888-1938, concerning private business and domestic matters; includes personal correspondence with Hewitt Bostock concerning the establishment of the newspaper, The Province in Victoria as well as correspondence regarding Bostock's successful campaign to represent Yale-Cariboo in the House of Commons. Also includes correspondence regarding acquisitions for Martin's library; some correspondence concerning court cases and matters relating to the judiciary as well as some general correspondence with federal and provincial government officials; letterbooks (2)1894-1897; judgement books (2), 1898-1906 and 1907.
