General note
Lord Willingdon, Governor-General of Canada (5 August 1926 – 4 April 1931) and Lady Willingdon visited Victoria and area late March to early April 1927. There is no mention of them having stayed until late May. They also visited in 1928 and 1930. During the latter, Lady Willingdon participated in a "canoe run" down the Cowichan River wearing "an Indian sweater". [Daily Colonist, 8 April 1930, p.2]
