Work at Montreal Portuguese Club. Learning of Kitimat, "trainload" to Kitimat, 1955. Employers' recruiting methods. Work in smelter. Shortage of housing. Mrs. de Melo arrives via Bella Coola. First baby. Providing room for new people. Sagimat Construction houses were moved to Terrace. TRACK 2: Alcan made it easy to purchase houses, restricted improvements, had regulatory power. Beginning a specialty store in Kitimat, reasons for relocating to Queensway, Terrace. Buying and selling Imperial Hotel. Trying business in Okanagan.
